Print Labels

Scan one item to print its label, or relabel a batch from the in-stock list; pick the label stock once per browser.

Scan an item to print its label straight away, or search the catalog by name, SKU or barcode. The page opens on everything in stock. Every label is the product name, a scannable Code128 barcode built from the Barcode field (or the SKU if there is none), the code as text, and the price. Every role can open it.

Set your label stock

The LABEL STOCK dropdown has two groups. Label printer (roll): 2" × 1" label roll and 2¼" × 1¼" label roll — one label per page. Sheet of labels (office printer): Avery 8160 / 5160, 5161 / 8161, 5163 / 8163 and 5167 / 8167. On a sheet, START AT LABEL is the position of the first empty spot on a part-used sheet. The choice is remembered per browser, and the Product edit Print label button and Inventory Scan print to the same stock.

CarefulSheets only line up when the browser prints with margins set to None and scale 100%. Check both in the print dialog before you feed a full sheet.

One item

  1. Scan into the search box (it is focused on load). A scan that matches exactly one item prints on its own and clears for the next scan.
  2. Typing a name that matches one item shows a card with Copies and 🏷️ Print this label. Enter prints it too.

A batch

  1. With the box empty you are on the in-stock list, every row ticked, one copy each.
  2. Type two or more characters to search the whole catalog instead — name, SKU, barcode or part number, in stock or not. A search starts with nothing ticked.
  3. Use Select all, Deselect all, and Copies = stock qty, which fills each ticked row to its on-hand count so every physical unit gets a label. Edit any Copies box by hand.
  4. Click 🏷️ Print N labels.
TipA search can return a hundred rows, which is why it starts unticked — one stray click would otherwise burn a hundred labels. Clear returns you to the in-stock list.

Which printer and scanner to buy is under Settings → Hardware Setup.
