Run a class day
Mark attendance, log pool sessions, dives and skills, then submit. The student’s stage advances on its own.

Class Day (/admin/class-day) is built for an iPad on the pool deck. Pick a class, choose the day, tap who is here and what they did, then submit. Everything you tap is written to each student’s training record.
Pick the class and day
- Tap a class card under Upcoming classes. Cards show Today, Tomorrow or In N days. Past classes are collapsed below.
- Use Print roster or Email roster to instructor if you need a copy.
- Choose the day tab (Day 1 · Pool, Day 2 · Lake, …). A 🔒 means the day was already submitted.
- A locked day ignores every tap. An admin or manager can tap Unlock to edit; anyone else asks them.
Mark each student
- Tap the row header or the name to flip between Here and Absent. Use “+ Add a student who showed up” for a walk-in.
- The course name under the student is a dotted link. Tap it to set the course, switch the row to Fun dive, or move the row onto one of the student’s other training records.
- Add note logs against the student, not the class, so it follows them to the next day. It works even on a locked day.
- Instructor lets you override who ran that student’s session; blank means the class default.
- Confined-water sessions: tap Pool 1 to Pool 5. Watermanship: Swim test and Float test when the course requires them. A test missed at the pool stays on the lake-day roster until it is done.
- Open-water dives: tap Dive 1 to Dive 5. Skills demonstrated are grouped by the dive they belong to, with Select all per student. Marking a dive-tagged skill also marks that dive.
- Chips with a date were completed on an earlier day and cannot be changed here.
- Rental gear checks a set out to the student and back in. Gave them a shirt records the marketing shirt.
Submit
Tap Submit Class Day. It saves everyone’s dives and skills for that day, then locks it. Each day is its own save. On a pool day, “Sign present students up for a lake day” adds everyone marked Here to a lake class you choose.
How the stage moves
After each save the record’s stage is recomputed from dated sessions against the course’s requirements: Needs pool, then Needs lake dive 1, then Needs lake dive 2, then Complete. A refresher counts a pool session or a lake dive the same. A lake-only course skips the pool stage. Complete puts the record on Send Training Records.
