Use your own domain

Put your DiveDesk pages on book.yourshop.com (keep your website) or yourshop.com (move it here) with one CNAME record, then verify.

Custom Domain puts your DiveDesk pages on a name you own. Without it every page still works at yourshop.divedesk.io. Your branded website and custom domain are part of every plan. Admin only.

Pick the name first

  • Keeping your current website? Use a subdomain — book.yourshop.com, students.yourshop.com, shop.yourshop.com. Your existing site is untouched; you add a link to the subdomain from its menu. This is the right choice for most shops and works at every registrar.
  • Moving your whole site to DiveDesk? Use the bare domain, yourshop.com. Whatever you have there today is replaced, so do this after the Website page is built and you are happy with it.

Set it up

  1. Type the name under Your domain — no https://, just the name — and click Save. The page then shows the exact record to add.
  2. Step 1 — Add a CNAME record in your DNS. At your registrar create a record of Type CNAME, Value divedesk.io, TTL Auto. For a subdomain the Host is the part before your domain (book for book.yourshop.com). For a bare domain the Host is @.
  3. Step 2 — Verify your domain. Click Verify domain. When the record has propagated the page says Domain verified, then Certificate being issued. The security certificate is issued for you — nothing else to add — and usually takes a few minutes; the page updates itself and says Certificate active when the address is live.
  4. If it says DNS not detected yet, make sure the CNAME is saved and try again in a few minutes. DNS changes usually take minutes, occasionally up to 48 hours.

Once live, links the admin generates — the Product link Copy button, course links, signing emails — use your domain instead of the divedesk.io address.

CarefulA bare domain needs a CNAME on @, and some registrars (GoDaddy, Google Domains, many others) refuse that. If yours does, do not fight it: save a subdomain instead. Cloudflare, Namecheap and Squarespace allow it.
TipA domain that is already attached keeps resolving if the add-on lapses. Only this settings page sits behind the add-on, so nothing customers bookmarked breaks.
CarefulSaving a new domain resets verification to unverified and the old one stops being the address customers should see. Change it during a quiet hour and verify straight away.
