Order numbering
Set a prefix and starting number for POS, web and invoice orders — the change applies to the next order only.

Order Numbering sets the prefix and starting number for each kind of order. Changing the starting number only affects the next order created — it never renumbers past orders. Admin only.
Three sequences
- POS Orders (POS) — card, cash and check sales rung up at the register.
- Web Orders (WEB) — course, trip and gear purchases through your website.
- Invoice Orders (INV) — phoned-in or emailed invoices staff send from the register.
- On a card, type a Prefix — letters and digits only, up to 8, uppercased as you type.
- Set Next order starts at.
- Watch the Preview, for example POS-TSA1042. The channel tag in front is fixed.
- Click Save on that card. It confirms Saved — takes effect on the next order. Each card saves on its own.
TipSwitching from another system? Set Next order starts at to one past your last old number so the sequence continues on receipts and in QuickBooks.
CarefulOrder numbers are how a customer quotes a receipt and how a refund is found. Move the starting number forward when you must; never backward into a range that has already been issued.
