Media: the images behind your site
Every photo and graphic your storefront shows lives in Media — what to upload, what the alt text is for, and why some files there are private.

Media under Raw data is the library every picture on your site comes from: course photos, homepage and page-builder images, product shots, staff portraits, your logo. You rarely open it directly — the Website page, Brand, a course or a product each upload into it for you — but it is where you go to reuse a photo, replace one, or find out what a file is called.
What you can upload
- PNG, JPEG, WebP and GIF for images. Keep a photo under a few megabytes; a 4000-pixel phone photo is far larger than any page needs, and a big file slows every page that shows it.
- PDF, for documents the site or a record links to. PDFs are never served to the public — only staff signed in to your admin can open them — so a signed record can sit here safely.
- No SVG, no video, no zip. Those are refused on upload.
Alt text
Alt is the sentence a screen reader speaks and a search engine reads in place of the picture. Write what is in it — Open Water students at the surface after dive one — not the filename. Your logo’s alt is your shop name.
Replacing a picture
- Upload the new image as a new file — do not overwrite the old one. Pages hold on to a file by name and the old name stays cached for a month.
- Point the course, product or page at the new file.
- Delete the old file once nothing uses it. A file still in use on a page leaves a broken image behind.
